The Department of Education cited Pinahan Elementary School (Gen. Natividad District) and Santa Rosa National High School as one of the Best Implementers of the 2011 Brigada Eskwela in the Philippines (Region III) during the 2011 Brigada Eskwela National Awards held November 25, 2011 at the BAngko Sentral ng Pilipinas Assembly Hall, Manila.
The two schools were commended for their exemplary performance in mobilizing community participation for the Brigada Eskwela, an annual pre-school opening maintenance activity.
Both Pinahan ES and Santa Rosa NHS were categorized as Small School Best Implementer in elementary and high school, respectively.
The awarding ceremony was attended and represented by the DepED Region III & Nueva Ecija officials headed by the Schools Division Superintendent Tarcila P. Javier; the Regional Supervisor Brigada Eskwela In-charge Crispina S. Zafra; Dr. Rowena M. Castillo-Division Brigada Eskwela Coordinator; the winning District Supervisor of Gen. Natividad Ms. Paz Gabazan; Pinahan Elem School Principal Edwin Espino; and Santa Rosa National High School Principal Rowena Caoile.
Pinahan ES FPTA president and some teachers also attended the event. Former Governor Tomas N. Joson III and the Municipal Mayor of Santa Rosa Hon. Josefino M. Angeles with Municipal Administrator Ruben Esquejo have also joined the principal and the department heads of Santa Rosa NHS in receiving the award.
Moreover, Education Secretary Armin Luistro awarded the other 142 schools as Best Implementers in their respective regions together with BSP Monetary Board member Felipe Medalla and DepEd Assistant Secretary Reynaldo Laguda.
