“During my assignment as SDS of the Division of San Jose, we had 21 delegates to the NSPC. Nueva Ecija is the biggest division in Region III and I am hoping we could send more than what San Jose had achieved!”
These are the strong words delivered by the new DepEd Nueva Ecija’s Schools Division Superindent Edna Santos-Zerrudo as she challenged the teacher participants to the recently concluded Division Training of School Paper Advisers held at Talavera National high School for CD I & II on July 16-17 and at Sta. Rosa National High School for CD III & IV on July 18-19.
Mam Zerrudo, who herself was once a school paper adviser encouraged the SPA participants to exert more effort and work harder in training their young campus journalists so that DepEd Nueva Ecija could send more participants to NSPC which will be held at Angeles City, Pampanga.
669 SPA’s from CD I & II and 549 SPA’s from CD III & IV attended the training seminar and workshop.
The training aims to hone, improve, update the journalistic skills and competencies of school paper advisers in both individual and group competition.
The four Education Program Specialists in English and Filipino namely: Lydia C. Muyot,EPS I in English (Elementary), Eleanor M. Gagarin, EPS I in Filipino (Elementary), Rebecca Buenavides, EPS I in English (Secondary), and Reynaldo Reyes, EPS I in Filipino (Secondary) monitored and supervised the training.
